Augmentin

Augmentin refers to the name giving to the combination antibiotic drug that contains clauvulanate and amoxicillin. It is usually used in the treatment of bacterial infections in your air tracts. You can also use Augmentin for sinus infection treatment or pneumonia.

Seizures.

Augmentin Dosage

Augmentin is usually available in a liquid or tablet form. To prevent it from upsetting your stomachs take it with snacks or a meal. Though its tablet contain various amoxicillin in various doses it clavulanate dose is always 125miligrams. Augmentin tablet can come in these forms

Augmentin500 mg/ 125 mg
Augmentin 250 mg /125 mg
Augmentin 875 mg /125 mg

Augmentin XR extended release tablet has 62.5 mg of clavulanate and 1 gram (g) or 1000 mg of amoxicillin.
The ES liquid of Augmentin contains either 400 mg of amoxicillin and 57 mg of clavulanate per 5 ml or 600 mg of amoxicillin and 42.9 mg of clavulanate per 5 milliliter (ml).
Generally do not take above 1200 mg amoxicillin in Augmentin per kilogram (kg) of body weight a day.

The doctor of your child may prescribe Augmentin syrup, which a pharmacist makes from a powder that contains clavulanate and amoxicillin. The doctor’s prescription is dependent on the weight of your child.

A dose of 5 ml has the following quantities of clavulanate and amoxicillin:

250 mg/ 62.5 mg
400 mg/ 57 mg
200 mg/ 28 mg
125 mg/ 31.25 mg
