You must have heard people asking the question what is Bactrim? Bactrim is a name for the generic antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (often called co-trimoxazole). The medicine is the combination of five parts sulfamethoxazole (a sulfonamide drug) and one part trimethoprim.

Bactrim ds dosage tablets are oval and white, containing 800 mg of sulfamethoxazole and 160 mg of trimethoprim. Continue taking the drug as your doctor tells you. Failure to do it may help in creating bacteria which are treatment resistant. Some of the signs of Bactrim antibiotics are vomiting and nausea, anorexia, dizziness, fever etc.

Whenever you suspect a drug overdose call the emergency room or poison control center immediately. Immediately you remember your dose take your medication but if the time for the next dose is almost near, skip the dose you missed and continue with your normal dose schedule.
